Over 37 Years of Trust Experience

We imagine you are either looking to establish a trust, wishing to find an independent trustee, or needing information and assistance in managing and running a trust. If so, you are in the right place.

Trusts have been around for hundreds of years. Whilst our tenure hasn’t been quite that long, we do have over 37 years of experience in creating, managing, and administering trusts.

We can work with you directly or with your accountant and lawyer, to ensure your trust is set up correctly and managed and administered as it should be.

We can even help you put in place estate planning documents that complement your trust.

Whilst a myriad of different types of trusts exists, we mainly work with people who need help with Family Trusts, Business Trusts, and Inheritance Trusts.

Sometimes trusts contain a lot of assets and undertake a variety of transactions. Other times, trusts may hold only one asset such as the family home. Irrespective of size or the value of assets they hold, at the heart of every trust lies a client’s desire to protect assets.

People work all their lives to build their wealth and it can take but only one event to decimate it. This is why trusts are so popular – they are a sensible mechanism to protect assets.

IS A TRUST RIGHT FOR YOU?

Before you contemplate establishing a trust, it’s important you obtain advice to determine if a trust is right for you.

Obtaining information from family and friends is not recommended because the law that surrounds trusts can be complex and is forever evolving.
A lot of misinformation also dominates our environment, which if relied upon, could result in disastrous decisions being made.

It’s for this reason we will only work with a client if we can talk directly with them, to ascertain their circumstances and needs.

It’s also the reason we like working with other professionals a client may have on their team such as their lawyer and accountant.

Trustees And Independent Trustees

Trusts need people to look after their assets and their beneficiaries.  This is what trustees do. They are the people legally responsible for running trusts for the benefit of beneficiaries.

Trusts and trustees are governed by numerous laws.  Having someone who understands how trustees should behave and how trusts should be run can really increase the effectiveness of a trust.  That’s where independent trustees like us come into play.

We specialise in administering and managing trusts and acting as independent trustees.  Our accounting, tax, and legal knowledge helps us perform our roles.  Clients find our assistance in administering their trusts enormously beneficial.  It’s probably one of the reasons accountants and lawyers refer their clients to us too.

One of the principal benefits of a trust is the asset protection it confers.  Asset protection can be lost, and negative tax consequence and litigation can result, however, if trustees don’t meet their responsibilities.  It’s for this reason a set-and-forget approach is not advocated.

Whilst not legally essential, having an independent trustee like us can mitigate against a trust failing and asset protection falling at the very time it’s needed.  That’s because our services ensure trustees meet their duties and the integrity of the trust stays strong.  It’s for these reasons our services have grown in popularity.

If you need someone to help you administer your trust or act as your independent trustee, contact us. We’re happy to lend a listening ear.
